Installation of a pallet rack storage system for a recent customer of Western Storage and Handling, Karman, which also operates under the name v, is located in Aurora, Colorado. They have been operating for approximately 72 years. Karman is estimated to generate $13.4 million in annual revenues. The company employs approximately 66 people at this headquarters location and 83 total employees across all locations, and is engaged in manufacturing and importing activities at this facility.

Pallet Rack Storage SystemsThey called out to WSH for help as they were running out of room and needed to increase pallet storage capacity. WSH added 210 bays, which at 12’ wide increased their pallet storage by about 2,400 locations. Since WSH had helped the customer previously, all layouts were on file for previous jobs which helped speed up the quoting and layout process.
The customer was concerned about pricing, along with diligent project management. Roper is a very busy distribution center so being able to implement this expansion without interruption to the ongoing operation was most important. Also, speed of delivery and installation was imperative.
WSH provided 3 different options to Roper, 2 new options on using new racking along with a used racking option. Roper decided on the new racking option that matched the existing color scheme. Western Storage and Handling supplied and installed the 210 bays of traditional style selective pallet rack ahead of Roper’s tight deadline.
WSH installed 22-foot-high uprights and to complete the job they had to use a scissor lift to place the top two beam levels on the racking.
