Autoquip Scissor Lift Installation for Elevated Material Handling

Project Overview – Solving Vertical Transport Challenges
A leading food manufacturer in Colorado contacted Western Storage and Handling (WSH) with a pressing safety and efficiency concern. Heavy ingredients—stored at ground level—needed to be manually carried up steep stepladders to elevated mixing platforms. This process was not only time-consuming but also presented a significant ergonomic and safety risk for employees.
Custom Material Handling Solution
Working closely with the client and Deneuve Construction, WSH designed and installed a space-efficient yet heavy-duty scissor lift to solve the problem. The centerpiece of the solution was a 3,000 lb capacity Autoquip Scissor Lift, perfectly suited for transporting ingredients vertically in tight spaces where forklift access was impossible.
Compact and Efficient Lift Performance
The Autoquip lift offered multiple advantages for this facility:
-
High capacity to handle bulk ingredient loads
-
Compact footprint to fit within limited floor space
-
Smooth and safe operation for repeated daily use
-
Improved safety by eliminating manual lifting on ladders
With this solution in place, the client now benefits from streamlined workflow, reduced strain on employees, and safer handling of heavy materials.
End-to-End Project Execution
From needs assessment and site planning to product specification, installation, and coordination with electrical contractors, WSH provided a complete turnkey service. As always, the assigned Project Manager handled all phases of the project—ensuring compliance with code and adherence to schedule—while maintaining a single point of contact for the client.
